Kopeng Treetop Adventure Park was established in 2010 as part of a worldwide treetop network that first opened in the French Alps in 1995. Kopeng Treetop Adventure Park provides adventures from tree to tree with different challenges. It is located near Kopeng Natural Park (Taman Wisata Kopeng) in Kopeng Village, Getasan district, Central Java. The park is accessible via a 30 minutes drive by car or motorcycle from Salatiga City, and 90 minutes from Semarang, the capital city of Central Java.
Kopeng Treetop Adventure Park is situated at the foot of Merbabu Mountain. The location is surrounded by pine trees and the air is refreshingly cool. To get to the destination from the main road you still have to walk about 10 minutes along a small uphill road that’s just wide enough for one car to pass. Don’t worry though; the cool air is very nice while you are walking.

To enjoy the adventure, you have to pay 160,000 IDR (approximately 12 USD) for adults and 110,000 IDR (approximately 8.25 USD) for children up to 12 years old. If you pay for a family package (2 adults and 2 kids), you only have to pay 430,000 IDR (approximately 32.25 USD). With that price, you can enjoy the park for 150 minutes and enjoy 88 challenges and 24 flying foxes. The establishment also provides safety helmets and flying fox gear, such as flying fox pulleys, carabiners, flying fox harnesses, and other necessary equipment.
Before you start the adventure, a professional instructor gives an explanation on how to use the gear to keep you safe. He will guide and accompany you during your adventure and also help you if needed.
Choose a challenge that you want to conquer
Kopeng Treetop Adventure Park offers several challenges that are grouped by color names, such as the green discovery circuit. With a 5-meter (16.4-foot) platform, you have to be a minimum of 130 cm (51.2 inches) tall to play there. The blue circuit has mostly swinging challenges and a long flying fox with an 8-meter (26-foot) platform. For the purple circuit you need to be at least 150 cm (59 inches) tall, and there are 16 meters (52 feet) from tree to tree. The red circuit offers a twin tarzan jump where you have to swing to a big net in other trees using a rope and a 100-meter-long (328-foot-long) flying fox. The hardest circuit is the black circuit, which has a 20-meter-high (65.5-foot-high) platform and a 135-meter-long (443-foot-long) flying fox. This circuit requires a good stamina in order to finish the challenge.

The food stalls offer traditional drinks that will warm you up, such as wedang jahe (ginger water), and typical cuisine from the village, like rabbit satay. The difference between this and other types of satay that use chicken is that this satay only uses soy sauce as seasoning. It is presented with a salad of cucumber, chili, onion, and tomato.
